Blurring the boundaries between an infant’s crib, a festival’s resting space and a musician’s mixing studio, it offers a space where sound, embodiement, and stillness converge. At its heart lies a spacious, cushioned environment beneath a suspended wooden mobile, surrounded by speakers and ambient lighting. Acoustic instruments, and electronic controllers -triggering samples or automations - are suspended above the visitors. Designed for groups of two to five participants of any age. It invites visitors to recline, immerse themselves, and shape a unique sonic atmosphere of their liking. Here, rest and creation intertwine. Without prior experience, participants can intuitively mix and manipulate harmonious soundscapes, each element chosen to complement the others. The act of playing is inherently collaborative, no single person can activate it alone. Some instruments are only accessible by foot, while others respond to the subtlety of touch and conduction, making the experience embodied and tactile.. Taiga Trigo is a multidisciplinary artist and audio professional. In her artistic practice, she combines practical and theoretical research on sound, language and social practices of listening. For example, she explores her own voice experimentally: what happens when we speak, sing or shout? What anatomical processes take place? And what traces of our own biography are inscribed in our voice? To Make or Become Sound began as an investigation into “sound” as adjective - whole, sane, healed - and the ways in which sound, as verb and noun, has been used to bring about healing. In composition, the research took a more personal turn. The resulting installation invites visitors to slow down and look inward. Lying or sitting within a circle of eight speakers on an octagonal rug, they are guided through a ~25-minute sonic journey assembled largely from self-recorded sessions with artist friends. The experience unfolds across nine parts - five acts of grounding, two of release, two of arousal - moving between resonance and emotional catharsis, political protest and lullaby, the body and its breath. The piece does not aim to heal or to educate. It offers instead a space of curiosity - a chance to sense the many ways one might find balance. Visitors are invited to sit, listen, and enter into conversation with the artist about the soundscapes of their own life. They are then invited to explore freely, removing the monophones and holding them to their ears in any combination they choose. The result of listening to one city with one ear and another with the second can produce a stereo cacophony, a sonic image of something otherwise impossible: the migrant desire to exist in many places at once. First shown at SoundsAbout Berlin gallery in 2019 "The listener should not have simply learned something new: the point is, rather, to make him or her aware of another disturbing side of something he or she knew all the time." — Slavoj Žižek, The Parallax View, MIT Press, 2006 (preface) What happens when voice happens?&nbsp; Out of the Vox is an audiovisual object born from an extended practical and theoretical research into the voice, as material, as somatic event, as carrier of identity, and as act of agency. It is composed of three independently selectable chapters: I. Mechanics - an inquiry into the physiology and resonance of the voice, developed through months of daily vocal practice, collaboration with dancers trained in voice work, and the observation of sounding bodies both human and animal. II. Autobiography - tracing the intimate link between voice and identity through recovered childhood recordings, collected testimonies from friends and strangers, and a dialogue between the self who speaks and the self who is remembered. III. Agency - shaped by a five-day voluntary silence at a rural retreat, this chapter explores what voice claims, disrupts, and makes visible, and what is lost, or found, in its absence. Together, the three chapters form a single proposition: that the voice is not simply something we have, but something that happens through us. A body made overtly, visibly all-ear, navigates space differently. It gravitates toward surfaces, crouches into corners, pauses where a passerby would not. The act of deep listening becomes legible as physical behaviour. First put into action in Berlin Mitte in 2019, this work is intended as the beginning of a wider artistic research that will involve performance, the collection of sounds, and the capture of movement.
